How is the inheritance divided among a mother, a wife, a son's daughter, and a maternal brother?

If the deceased leaves no heirs other than a mother, a wife, a son's daughter, and a maternal brother, then the mother receives one-sixth due to the presence of a lineal descendant, and the wife receives one-eighth due to the presence of a lineal descendant. The son's daughter unanimously receives one-half. The maternal brother does not inherit because he is blocked by the son's daughter. The remainder is returned to the mother and the son's daughter.

The inheritance is divided into 32 shares: 4 for the wife, 7 for the mother as a prescribed share and by return, and 21 for the son's daughter as a prescribed share and by return.

Inheritance cases must be brought before the Sharia courts for investigation to ensure there are no wills, debts, or other rights taking precedence over the heirs' right.
