What should I do about the sins of the past, and has God forgiven me, or will God's concealment be revealed on the Day of Resurrection?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

Whoever commits a sin must offer sincere repentance to Allah Almighty. Repentance has five conditions: sincerity, abandoning the sin, regretting having committed it, resolving not to return to it, and that the repentance be before the death rattle. Whoever fulfills these conditions is hoped to have their sins forgiven. It is not permissible to expose Allah Almighty's concealment or to publicize a sin; rather, one must keep it hidden. Concealing it from the husband is not considered deceit, as defects related to religion do not need to be disclosed to the husband, and "the one who repents from sin is like one who has no sin."
