Does frequent seeking of forgiveness lead to the acceptance of prayers?

It is from Allah's generosity and mercy that He answers the supplications of those who supplicate, and clear texts have been revealed regarding this, and Allah has promised to answer supplications. The answer to a supplication varies between being hastened, or being stored for the hereafter, or warding off evil from the servant.

Among the times and places where supplications are answered are: Laylat al-Qadr (the Night of Decree), the depths of the night, during prostration (sujud (definition)), between the call to prayer (adhan (definition)) and the iqamah (definition), at the call to prayer and when ranks meet in battle, the supplication of the oppressed, and supplication after the sun passes its zenith before Dhuhr.

And seeking forgiveness has great benefits; it erases sins and brings the servant closer to Allah, which increases the chances of a supplication being answered, just as seeking forgiveness is a cause for abundant provision and the answering of supplications.

The supplication of Yunus (peace be upon him) indicates the importance of seeking forgiveness in answering supplications: ﴿There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers.﴾ This is a supplication that no Muslim supplicates with but Allah answers him. It combines the affirmation of Allah's oneness, His transcendence, and the acknowledgment of sin.

Scholars have deduced that seeking forgiveness brings down sustenance and rain, and among the proofs is the story of Umar ibn al-Khattab regarding seeking rain, and imams have urged seeking forgiveness to achieve various demands.
