Refusing to bring a television into the home is not a psychological illness; rather, it is a legitimate refusal based on the fact that its harms outweigh its benefits, and warding off harms takes precedence over acquiring benefits. However, if the wife is religious and educated, and can distinguish between what is beneficial and permissible and what is harmful and forbidden, there is no objection to her using the device as long as she is safe from falling into its harms.
