Is it permissible for an employee to purchase goods from the store where he works at a certain price, then sell them to a customer at a higher price, knowing that the store owner authorized the employee to sell them at an appropriate price without specifying a particular price, provided there is no loss?

There is no objection to an employee buying goods from his workplace if four conditions are met:

1. The employer's permission for the employee to buy from him, whether explicit or customary. 2. The employee must buy and own the goods first before selling them to a customer, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Do not sell what you do not possess." 3. The employee must buy the goods at the normal, prevailing price, without undervaluing the employer's right. 4. The sale must take place outside official working hours, or with the employer's permission.
