If he did intend it, but the wife denied the occurrence of the condition upon which it was made contingent, she is not divorced. However, some scholars have held that divorce becomes obligatory due to doubt about the existence of the contingent condition, such as when divorce is made contingent on a matter whose truthfulness or falsehood is unknown. If a revocable divorce occurred, the return (to the marital relationship) has been accomplished by the husband's cohabitation with his wife during her waiting period ().
