What is the ruling on the expiation incurred by the death of a paternal cousin following a car rollover accident, where the driver was not speeding but lost control of the vehicle?

If there was no negligence in taking safety precautions and observing traffic laws, then there is no blood money (diyya), no expiation (kaffara), and no sin. However, if there was negligence or a violation of traffic laws, then the driver is liable for the blood money, which is to be paid by his 'aqila (male relatives on the father's side), and he must also offer expiation, which is the freeing of a believing slave. If he cannot find one, then it is fasting for two consecutive months.
