The question

How was the Holy Quran compiled, and how were its verses and chapters arranged after it was revealed in fragmented form? And how did it reach us in its current form? And why does God refer to Himself as "your Lord" (ربك) and "our Lord" (ربنا)?

The answer

The Qur'an was revealed in parts. Allah says: (And [We have separated it into] a Qur'an that We have spread out [in portions] that you might recite it to the people over a prolonged period. And We have sent it down progressively) and (that We may strengthen thereby your heart).

As for its compilation and arrangement: The Prophet, peace be upon him, would dictate the Qur'an to his scribes and specify the position of the verses within the surahs. Gabriel would review the Qur'an with the Prophet annually. The Prophet, peace be upon him, passed away while the Qur'an was preserved in the hearts of the Companions and written down.

After his passing, Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him, gathered it in one place, and then Uthman, may Allah be pleased with him, had it copied into a single .

As for the expression "your Lord" or "our Lord" in the Qur'an, it appears according to the context and the style of address in clear Arabic.
