There are supplications that remove worry and sadness and bring joy, among them: the supplication of Abdullah ibn Mas'ud, "O Allah, I am Your servant and the son of Your servant," and the supplication of the distressed, "O Allah, Your mercy I hope for," and the supplication of Yunus (peace be upon him), "There is no god but You; glory be to You. Indeed, I was among the wrongdoers." And the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to supplicate when distressed, "There is no god but Allah, the Almighty, the Forbearing." He also recommended words to be said when distressed, "Allah, Allah, my Lord, I associate nothing with Him." And the supplication "O Most Loving, O Lord of the Glorious Throne" is narrated, by which Allah granted victory to Abu Mu'allaq al-Ansari. It is also important to seek out times and conditions for the acceptance of supplication.
