Is it permissible to slaughter and eat from the slaughtered animals on the occasion of the Prophet's Noble Birthday?

Slaughtering during the Mawlid (Prophet's Birthday) is an innovation (bid'ah). If the one who slaughters offers it to other than Allah, then it is impermissible to eat from it. However, if the animal is slaughtered for Allah the Almighty, and the intention is to celebrate and distribute it to the poor, then the act of slaughtering is an innovation, but it is permissible to eat from it because it was slaughtered for Allah.
