What is the answer to Aisha's (may Allah be pleased with her) saying that His (Exalted be He) saying: "And those who are established in prayer," and His saying: "Indeed, those who believed and those who were Jews and the Sabeans," and His saying: "Indeed, these two are magicians"; is a mistake from the scribe?

This narration revolves around Abu Mu'awiyah al-Darir, whose narrations are a subject of discussion. Scholars have refuted the claim of error in the orthography of the Mushaf for several reasons: that the compilers of the Qur'an were at the pinnacle of linguistic mastery, that the copies of the Mushaf are numerous and identical, that the Ummah unanimously agreed upon the continuously transmitted readings, and that what has been cited as such (an error) is in fact from the eloquence of the Arabic language and its various grammatical aspects, not an error on the part of the scribe, but rather a selection of the most preferable among the seven ahruf (modes of recitation).
