Madhiy is a white, thin, sticky fluid discharged due to a decrease in desire, not due to passion. Its discharge may not even be felt. It is common to both men and women. As for purifying clothes from it, some jurists consider sprinkling water (nadh) on the spot where the madhiy is, and saturating it without dripping, to be sufficient. Others deem washing it obligatory, with the clarification that the water separated from it is considered pure if it has not changed due to the madhiy.
