What is the ruling regarding women going out to seek essential knowledge, whether from a scholar or through studying among themselves?

If a woman cannot acquire the obligatory knowledge except by leaving her home, then she is obliged to go out, provided she is properly covered, takes precautions, and avoids anything that could lead to temptation. It is preferable that she seek knowledge from trustworthy and knowledgeable women. She can also acquire knowledge from sources where men are not present, and benefit from audio recordings and books.
