ما معنى الإرجاء؟
Linguistically, Irja' (postponement) means delay. The Murji'ah were named so because they postponed action from faith, or because they postponed the punishment of disobedient Muslims. The most famous views of the Murji'ah regarding faith are three: The first: that faith is merely the affirmation of the heart, which is the view of the Jahmiyyah. The second: that faith is merely the utterance of the tongue, which is the view of the Karramiyyah. The third: that faith is the utterance of the tongue and the affirmation of the heart, which is the view of the Murji'ah among the jurists. All of them contradict the People of the Sunnah and the Community in that faith is belief, utterance, and action, which increases and decreases.
