Is it correct to say, "Our Lord, do not destine this for us"?

Allah decreed the destinies of creation in eternity, and everything is recorded in the Preserved Tablet, for He, the Almighty, said: "Indeed, We created all things with a [decreed] measure." And it is authentically reported that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Allah wrote the destinies of all creatures fifty thousand years before He created the heavens and the earth." There is no meaning in asking Allah not to decree a certain matter. However, this does not prevent supplicating to Allah to repel destiny by destiny, for supplication is part of Allah's decree. And the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Nothing averts destiny except supplication." An example of this is what Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, did by fleeing from Allah's decree to Allah's decree in the story of the plague of Sham.
