Is water rejected if offered to you? Are dates and basil rejected?

There is no religious impediment for a Muslim to return what they do not need, though it is preferable to accept what is offered, especially if it is good. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, disliked the rejection of basil by anyone to whom it was offered, unless there was an excuse.
