Is a girl's going out to work considered a means of honoring her parents, especially if the parents see in this a return for the expenses of their educating her, given the girl's dilemma between helping her father and adhering to the Sharia regulations for women's work?

If the work is permissible and the parents ask their children to do it, then obeying them in this matter is an act of righteousness towards them. However, if it is impermissible, then obeying them is not allowed, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Obedience is only in what is good" and "There is no obedience to a creature in disobedience to the Creator."

The Muslim woman should fear Allah Almighty and seek a permissible job that benefits her and her parents, and she should strive for Allah's pleasure, not the pleasure of people. For whoever seeks the pleasure of Allah, Allah will make people pleased with him. And whoever seeks the pleasure of people without the pleasure of Allah, Allah will make people angry with him.

Moreover, whoever abandons something for the sake of Allah, Allah will compensate him with something better. And whoever fears Allah, He will make for him a way out and provide for him from where he does not expect. So, she should supplicate and seek help through the prayers of her parents.
