Is there a legal basis for saying "Bismillah" (in the name of Allah) when taking out a bag of trash or lighting a house, in order to protect oneself from the harm of jinn?

Reciting "Bismillah" (in the name of Allah) before doing anything carries immense virtue and is a means of protection from Satan, who attends to all human affairs, such as their food, drink, and so on. If one does not mention Allah's name over their food, Satan shares in it. Moreover, jinn may be harmed by humans unintentionally, leading the jinn to retaliate and harm them.
