What is the ruling on trailing one's garment, even if it is not out of arrogance or conceit?

It is forbidden to let one's garment hang low (isbal), and many texts have indicated this, even if the person letting it hang low thinks that they are not doing so out of pride. This is because letting the garment hang low necessitates dragging it, and dragging the garment necessitates pride. And "whatever is below the ankles is in the Fire." The ankles are the two protruding bones on the sides of the leg. Isbal is not limited to just the izar (lower garment) or qamis (shirt), but rather includes every garment a person wears.
