Is brokerage in buying and selling forbidden or permissible?

Brokerage (samsara) is permissible. It involves mediating between a seller and a buyer to complete a sale, or guiding someone to merchandise, provided that it does not entail assisting in a forbidden sale or guiding to something whose sale and transaction are prohibited. Brokerage is considered a form of ju'l (a reward or commission for a specific task) in Islamic jurisprudence.
