Will a Muslim achieve the companionship of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in the highest part of Paradise if he supplicates with the mentioned dua: "O Allah, I ask You for an unwavering faith, an unending bliss, an everlasting comfort, and the companionship of Your Prophet Muhammad in the highest Paradise of eternity"?
The gist of the fatwa: A person's love for a people makes him among them. The supplication mentioned is from the supplications of Ibn Mas'ud, and the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, approved it. Supplications in general are answered if the conditions for acceptance are met and impediments are removed, for Allah Almighty says: "And your Lord says, 'Call upon Me; I will respond to you'," and "And when My servants ask you concerning Me, then [answer them], I am indeed near. I respond to the invocation of the supplicant when he calls upon Me."
