Is it true what was narrated about the Prophet ﷺ coming out to the polytheists and throwing dust on their heads on the night of the Hijrah, while they could not see him?

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, went out to the polytheists on the night of the Hijra, after they had conspired to kill him and besieged his house. He took a handful of dust and threw it on their heads while reciting the words of Allah: "{And We have put a barrier before them and a barrier behind them and covered them, so they do not see}" [Qur’an 36:9]. He then proceeded to the house of Abu Bakr, and they both departed at night through a small door in Abu Bakr's house. The polytheists did not see him until after he had passed them. Scholars have affirmed the authenticity of this incident.
