Will a person be held accountable for going to a charlatan out of ignorance that it is forbidden?

Ignorance of the prohibition of a thing lifts the sin from its perpetrator, as in the hadith narrated by Muslim from Ibn Abbas, that a man gifted the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, a skin of wine. When the Prophet learned of its prohibition, the man said, "No." This indicates that whoever commits a sin out of ignorance incurs no sin or punishment. However, one who had the opportunity to learn but did not, is sinful. And Allah Almighty says: "And never would We punish until We had sent a messenger." (Quran 17:15). And whoever repents, Allah will accept his repentance.
