What is the ruling on raising one's voice at a father who uses drugs and does not provide for his family?

We congratulate you on your repentance and guidance, and we say that steadfastness upon them necessitates gratitude.

If your father is using drugs, this is a great evil, and striving for his guidance is one of the greatest acts of righteousness. However, advising with violence is an act of disobedience (disrespect to parents) from which one must repent.

The financial support of a poor parent is a religious obligation upon their children. If your father does not financially support those for whom he is responsible, he is negligent, and he must be advised. If he still does not do so, it is permissible to take from his money the amount of the obligatory support, even without his knowledge.
