Is it permissible to pray while experiencing pain when moving the lips, and suffice with contemplating in the heart?

To achieve correct pronunciation in prayer, one must move the tongue and lips at the very least, because without that, it would be mere thought and self-talk. This is supported by the Prophet's ﷺ hadith, which distinguished between self-talk and actual speech. The majority of scholars stipulate that the person must hear their own voice, while others, such as Sheikh Al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, believe that moving the tongue and articulating the letters without sound is sufficient. Laryngitis does not prevent moving the tongue and lips without sound; therefore, one must be diligent in doing so to correct the prayer, while also seeking treatment.
