Am I obligated to offer expiation (kaffarah) for an oath if I broke a pledge made between me and Allah, knowing that I uttered it privately in the form of "I pledge to You, my Lord, that I will not do such and such," and at the time, I was unaware of the necessity of expiation? And is it permissible to delay the expiation, or must it be carried out immediately?
