What is the ruling on sweeping a floor that has dust and impurities, which may rise up onto one of the names of Allah hung on the wall, or onto the Holy Qur’an?

Part of revering the Book of Allah and His Beautiful Names is to remove any dust or dirt that may cling to them. Sweeping the floor is permissible, but if dust rises or anything of it lands on the Qur’an or the Names of Allah, it must be removed by shaking it off or wiping it. One must promptly remove anything considered impure from the Holy Qur’an or the Names of Allah, even if it is ritually pure; because leaving something considered impure on it, when one is able to remove it, is like placing it there initially, which is not permissible. The criterion for what is considered impure is that which sound natures deem impure, and in this regard, one refers to custom.
