Is it permissible to reject a specific matter based solely on istikhara, before a person has seen it or knows enough about it?

Istikhara (guidance-seeking prayer) is prescribed in Islam. Among its etiquette are entrusting the matter to Allah Almighty and being content with what He chooses. The sign of this is a feeling of ease in the heart. One should not rely on a feeling of ease that was influenced by personal desires before performing Istikhara. So, if the girl's family performs Istikhara and their hearts are not at ease concerning their daughter marrying you, they have the right to that. It is advisable to repeat the Istikhara and consult righteous people, especially if the suitor is a man of religion and good character, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "If someone whose religion and character you are pleased with proposes to you, then marry him. If you do not do so, there will be tribulation on earth and widespread corruption."
