Is giving charity to others for distribution considered a form of showing off?
Authorizing someone to distribute zakat is permissible, and there is no objection to it, even if the one giving zakat is capable of distributing it himself. This is not considered showing off (riyaa'), and the one giving zakat will be rewarded for his sincere intention. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, distributed zakat through collectors, and he authorized Ali ibn Abi Talib to slaughter the remainder of his sacrificial animals. If the one giving zakat does not know which poor people are deserving of zakat, it is obligatory for him to authorize someone to disburse it to its rightful recipients according to Islamic law.
