The answer

It is permissible for the payer of or sadaqa to supplicate to Allah at the time of payment, asking Him to replace it with something better. It is also recommended for him to say: "O Allah, make it a gain and not a loss," based on the of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him). Allah Almighty has promised recompense for those who spend, as stated in the verse: "And whatever you spend of anything, He will compensate it; and He is the best of providers" (Surat Saba', 34:39). And in the hadith: "O Allah, grant recompense to one who spends."
