Is the حد (prescribed punishment) obligatory for someone who drinks a drop or two of alcohol?

Drinking alcohol, whether a little or a lot, is prohibited. The same applies to the establishment of the hadd punishment, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whatever intoxicates in large amounts, a small amount of it is unlawful." Therefore, whoever drinks a single drop of alcohol falls into the unlawful and the hadd punishment becomes obligatory upon them. This is a matter upon which Muslims have unanimously agreed, and it has been mentioned by jurists such as Ibn Qudamah, An-Nawawi, Al-Qarafi, Ibn Taymiyyah, and Ash-Shawkani.
