Is it permissible to liken anyone to the companions of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him?

The Companions hold a great status, and Allah praised them in the Qur’an. Emulating them is a great good because they were the purest-hearted and most profound in knowledge of this Ummah. It is permissible to liken a person to the Companions in their morals, deeds, or physical appearance, as long as the resemblance is in some aspects and not all. Similarly, some Companions were likened to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, in his demeanor and guidance.
