Are the chapters on purification and prayer in the commentary on Sahih al-Bukhari sufficient instead of studying an independent book of fiqh for beginners in seeking knowledge, with a preference between "Minhaj as-Salikin," "Bulugh al-Maram," and "'Umdat al-Ahkam"?

It is preferable to begin with Shaykh Al-Sa'di's book to clarify rulings with evidence and clear expression, then to read "Bulugh al-Maram" to memorize the hadiths of rulings and distinguish between the authentic and the weak among them. As for the commentary on Sahih al-Bukhari, it is important but does not substitute for concise books for beginners. It is also advised to occupy oneself with the Qur'an, read books such as Riyad al-Salihin, books on encouragement and discouragement, books on softening the hearts, and the Seerah (Prophet's biography), and to learn the Arabic language.
