It is preferable to begin with Shaykh Al-Sa'di's book to clarify rulings with evidence and clear expression, then to read "Bulugh al-Maram" to memorize the hadiths of rulings and distinguish between the authentic and the weak among them. As for the commentary on al-Bukhari, it is important but does not substitute for concise books for beginners. It is also advised to occupy oneself with the Qur'an, read books such as Riyad al-Salihin, books on encouragement and discouragement, books on softening the hearts, and the (Prophet's biography), and to learn the Arabic language.
