Is it permissible to buy a car that was gifted after the donee wanted to sell it? And does the hadith, "The one who takes back his charity is like a dog that returns to its vomit," apply to it?

Scholars differ on the ruling concerning a donor buying back what he has donated. The majority of scholars hold that it is disliked (makrooh) but not forbidden (haram), and this is the view of Imam An-Nawawi and others. However, they permit the purchase if the donated item has passed to a third party before the donor buys it back. Other scholars consider it forbidden, citing the hadith of Umar ibn Al-Khattab in the Sahihayn regarding his horse which he had given in charity. The Permanent Committee for Issuing Fatwas has ruled it forbidden, citing the same hadith. It is more prudent to avoid what is disputed.
