Is it more befitting for the student of knowledge to continue seeking knowledge, or to devote themselves and search for ways to defend the religion, in light of the current circumstances that Islam and Muslims are experiencing?
Knowledge of the religion is one of the most important weapons for defending it. Allah commanded His Prophet to strive with the Quran first, before striving with the sword, as He says: "So do not obey the disbelievers, but strive against them with it a great striving" (Al-Furqan: 52). This striving includes confronting the people of falsehood with proofs from the Quran, and it is one of the greatest types of striving. The science of argumentation and debate is among the most important sciences, and nothing equals the ink of scholars except the blood of martyrs. Therefore, continue seeking knowledge, spreading it, and confronting the people of falsehood with it, and do not abandon it; for it is not correct to do so in a time when the Ummah is in dire need of knowledge.
