The answer

It is forbidden for a sick person to hasten their death by suicide or by taking drugs to kill themselves. It is also forbidden for a doctor or anyone else to fulfill such a request. Whoever assists in this has participated in the sin. Clear texts from the Qur'an and have indicated the prohibition of killing oneself unjustly. The Prophet (peace be upon him) forbade wishing for death due to harm that has afflicted a person and commanded patience in affliction and seeking reward, because the life of a believer is better for him. Requesting death or assisting in it is considered a violation of Allah's boundaries and an objection to His decree. The sick person must repent and strive in good deeds, and whoever assists in this should know that they are sinful.
