What is the ruling on a reciter retaining copyright and selling or exchanging it for Quranic tapes?

It is permissible for a reciter to record their recitation and sell it, as there is nothing to prevent this. Rather, there is evidence in the Sunnah indicating its permissibility, such as the hadith about taking payment for ruqyah with Surat Al-Fatiha, in which the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Indeed, the most deserving thing for which you take payment is the Book of Allah." The consideration is the generality of the wording, not the specificity of the cause.
