Thank you. What is the ruling on one who is extravagant in spending money and does not own a home?

Exceeding moderation in spending is blameworthy. Islamic law has condemned extravagance (israf) and wastefulness (tabdhir), which refer to spending something on what is improper, or spending on what is proper but in excess of what is needed. Allah has commanded moderation in spending, saying: "And do not make your hand shackled to your neck, nor extend it completely, lest you sit down blameworthy and regretful." He also praised His servants by saying: "And those who, when they spend, do not transgress, nor are they stingy, but are ever between that, justly balanced." Spending on something unlawful is extravagance and wastefulness, no matter how little. Among the objectives of Islamic law is prioritizing expenses, such as starting with oneself and one's family, as indicated by prophetic hadiths.
