What is required of a lone worshiper if he moves to prostrate mistakenly before completing the remembrance, "Our Lord, and to You be the praise," or moves to rise from bowing or prostration before completing the glorification in them, and what is the ruling on his prayer in these cases?
It is legislated for the worshiper to say: "Our Lord, and to You be praise" after rising from bowing (ruku'), and "Glory to my Lord, the Most High" (Subhana Rabbiyal-A'la) in prostration (), and "Glory to my Lord, the Almighty" (Subhana Rabbiyal-Azim) in bowing.
If the worshiper forgets these remembrances, he returns to perform them before the opportunity to rectify passes. The opportunity to rectify passes when one stands upright in the pillar that follows the pillar in which the glorification was forgotten. So, whoever forgets the glorification of bowing should return to it before standing upright.
If the opportunity to rectify the forgotten remembrance inadvertently passes, then the solitary worshiper performs the prostration of forgetfulness (sujud as-sahw) before the salutations (). If the prostration of forgetfulness is forgotten inadvertently, then his prayer is still valid.
The majority of scholars hold the view that the glorification in bowing and prostration is a (recommended act) and not obligatory. Therefore, whoever omits it intentionally or inadvertently, or substitutes one remembrance for another, his prayer is valid and there is nothing upon him.
