What is the correct method for ghusl? And what necessitates ghusl?

Ghusl (ritual bath) differs from Wudu (ablution) in its ruling, prerequisites, and method. It is of two types: complete and sufficient.

Complete Ghusl: This involves making the intention (niyyah) and saying "Bismillah" (in the name of Allah), then washing the hands three times, removing any impurities, then performing wudu as for prayer, then pouring three handfuls of water over the head, then pouring water over the rest of the body, starting with the right side, while rubbing and ensuring the water reaches every part of the body and hair, based on the actions of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, as narrated by Aisha and Maymunah, may Allah be pleased with them.

Sufficient Ghusl: This involves removing impurities, making the intention, and saying "Bismillah," then washing the entire body, including the mouth, nose, and hair.

The prerequisites for Ghusl are six: 1. The emission of semen with pleasure, or through nocturnal emission (for both conscious and sleeping individuals). 2. The insertion of the glans into the vagina (sexual intercourse), even if there is no emission. 3. A disbeliever embracing Islam. 4. The cessation of menstrual bleeding. 5. The cessation of post-natal bleeding (nifas). (Ghusl suffices for wudu in the aforementioned cases). 6. Death (with the exception of a martyr of battle and one who is wrongfully killed).

Recommended Ghusl acts are numerous, including: 1. Ghusl for Friday prayer. 2. Ghusl for assuming the state of ihram for Umrah or Hajj. 3. Ghusl for the two Eid prayers. 4. Ghusl for one who has washed a deceased person.
