What is the ruling on listening to the Friday sermon from home and then going to the mosque only to perform the prayer?

One must strive to attend the Friday prayer upon hearing the second call (adhan), and attending the sermon is obligatory, as it is a condition for the prayer's validity. Therefore, whoever lives far away must strive to come early to catch the sermon and the prayer.
