What is the ruling on celebrating a baby's first week, and is it permissible to celebrate their 'aqiqah during the night?

Celebrating the baby's first week (Usbū' al-Mawlūd) is among the reprehensible innovations (bid'ah munkarah) and is not permissible, neither by night nor by day. What is prescribed is only the 'Aqīqah, which is a charity offered for the boy, to be slaughtered on his seventh day. It is valid even if performed earlier or later.
