Is earning money through reading advertisements for specific companies (computers, cars, real estate) on the internet in exchange for a sum of money permissible or forbidden?

Earning from clicking on and browsing advertisements is not permissible, even if the advertisements themselves are permissible. This is because the amount paid is not in exchange for a legitimate, recognized benefit. For a lease (ijara) to be valid, it must be for a Sharia-compliant benefit, and merely clicking on and reading advertisements is not considered a legitimate, recognized Sharia-compliant benefit.
