"It is not a condition for the validity of Tamattu' (a type of Hajj) that the two rituals ( and Hajj) be performed by or on behalf of the same person. So, if one performs Umrah for himself and Hajj on behalf of another, or vice versa, or performs them for two different individuals, it is valid for him, and the sacrificial animal (hady) for Tamattu' becomes obligatory upon him. This is the view of the majority of jurists."
