How is the estate of my grandmother to be divided, she having died and leaving behind one brother, four sons, and one daughter, and she having no parents, and she having grandchildren?

If a woman dies leaving behind four sons and a daughter, her estate is divided among them according to the rule: "for the male, what is equal to the share of two females," as stated in the verse: (Allah instructs you concerning your children: for the male, what is equal to the share of two females). Her brother and grandchildren receive nothing, as they are excluded by the presence of her children.

The estate is divided into nine shares: the daughter receives one share (1/9), and each son receives two shares (2/9).
