ما حكم قول: "جسدي هو ملكي"؟

The answer to the phrase "man owns his body" depends on its intended meaning:

- If the intention is that man is uniquely responsible for his body and accountable for it, then this meaning is correct, based on the Almighty's saying: "And do not kill yourselves" and "And do not throw [yourselves] with your [own] hands into destruction," and based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Indeed, your body has a right over you."

- If the intention is that man has absolute disposal over his body, like his other possessions, then this meaning is false and contradicts the texts of Islamic law, which restrict man's disposal of his body to that which is in his best interest.
