A disobedient wife (nashiz) is not deprived of her husband's inheritance, because disobedience (nushuz) does not sever the marital bond. The reason for inheritance is the existence of the marital bond, not the fulfillment of obedience. However, the maintenance (nafaqa) falls due to disobedience because it is in exchange for enabling and fulfilling obedience.
