Is there a consensus on the sphericity of the Earth, and what are the proofs from the Quran and Sunnah regarding its sphericity or ovality?

The scholars have reached a consensus on the sphericity of the Earth, among them Ibn Taymiyyah and Ibn Hazm, basing their arguments on cosmic phenomena and Quranic verses, such as Allah's saying: "He wraps the night over the day and wraps the day over the night." This is further confirmed by empirical evidence, like the varying times of sunrise and sunset. This does not contradict the Earth appearing flat to the observer, or its being bulging (oval) at its extremities.
