Will the prayer of a woman be accepted whose children and husband consume alcohol in the same room? Will she be held accountable for neglecting her flock? Is her marriage considered void?
Drinking alcohol is one of the major sins. Whoever sees someone drinking alcohol must advise them and forbid them from this evil, and silence is not permissible, especially for those in positions of responsibility like parents. It is not permissible to sit with an alcohol drinker; rather, one should forbid them and then distance oneself from them. A wife must enjoin her husband and children to do good and forbid them from evil to the best of her ability. Her marriage is valid as long as he does not consider alcohol permissible, and her prayers are valid if they fulfill the conditions and pillars, and their acceptance is known to God. We advise the woman to fulfill the duty of enjoining good and forbidding evil.
