Do the rabbis and monks among the People of the Book in our time know the truth and the veracity of the prophethood of Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, and conceal it from their followers, as their predecessors did, or are they ignorant of the truth, like common people?

The scholars among the People of the Book know the details of Prophet Muhammad's mission and the place of his call, just as their predecessors knew it, as Allah Almighty says: "Those to whom We gave the Scripture know him as they know their own sons. But indeed, a party of them conceal the truth while they know." Many of their fair-minded individuals have embraced Islam in the present time after becoming acquainted with his descriptions in their scriptures.
